Deputy Director: Economic Statistics Assessment (Ref No: 04/01/26HO)

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Economics, Statistics, or Accounting.
  • Training in the System of National Accounts (SNA), as well as other international guidelines and methodologies relevant to the work area, such as the Handbook on Supply and Use Tables (SUT) and Input-Output tables, and other subject-specific manuals.
  • Training in SAS, Introduction to Project Management, Introduction to Economic Indicators and Analysis, Labour Relations, and Financial Management.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience at an Assistant Director level in a similar field.
  • Knowledge of SNA, Government Financial Statistics (GFS), and various classification systems.
  • Competence in using office software packages such as MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to plan work, meet deadlines, think innovatively and analytically, communicate well, and work in a team.
  • Organized, strategic thinker, committed, persevering, consistent, balanced, and able to communicate processes effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong numeric and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A valid driver’s license.
