Assistant Manager – Climate Change and Sustainability

Assist the Manager or Senior Manager in delivering external sustainability assurance and reporting projects, both on-site and at client locations. Ensure you follow the firm’s established methods and practices. Build strong client relationships and manage teams effectively.

Support business leaders in growing the sustainability assurance and reporting services. Identify new business opportunities, prepare convincing proposals, and join efforts to develop client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a team to help organizations manage and report on sustainability and climate-related risks and impacts.
  • Provide assurance on non-financial reports, including sustainability metrics, emissions, and energy data across different industries.
  • Create strategies, solutions, methods, and tools to guide clients through regulations and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Help clients develop and carry out sustainability plans, set goals, and improve value in areas like diversity, waste management, modern slavery, and environmental effects.
  • Manage teams and projects, including coaching and training staff.
  • Write reports, respond quickly to client and team needs, and update managers and partners on progress.
  • Prepare for and join client presentations, as well as proposals for ESG reporting and assurance.
  • Support business growth by spotting leads and helping turn them into opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in commerce (accounting, finance, or economics – CA/IA), chemical engineering, social sciences, sciences, geography, geology, or a similar field.

Desired Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification related to the service area.
  • Courses or electives in sustainability basics, including reporting frameworks.

Minimum Experience

  • 3 to 4 years of assurance or audit experience.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of integrating ESG and sustainability into business operations, plus familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Experience in assurance projects, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
