Job Description

An Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager when they are away and helps maintain company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of money.
  • Relieve the store manager.
  • Maintain company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed.
  • Assist the store manager in managing staff.
  • Make sure front-end controls are in place.
  • Oversee the cash office.
  • Minimize stock loss.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Introduce sales initiatives to meet store targets.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
  • Previous experience managing people.
  • Previous experience managing a department.
  • Previous clothing retail experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
