Requirements
- Experience as a household aid or in cleaning, preferably in a health facility or similar environment.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic skills in reading, writing, and counting.
Duties
- Keep ward kitchens and surrounding areas clean, neat, and hygienic every day.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) policies.
- Assist the supervisor with general housekeeping tasks, such as managing cleaning equipment and maintaining linen supplies.
- Handle clean and soiled linen on the ward according to IPC policies and ward procedures.
- Perform food service duties on the ward following HACCP principles and food service unit policies.
Other Requirements
- Willing to work weekends, overtime, public holidays, and night shifts.
Salary and Benefits
R 138 486 per year, plus service benefits including a 13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing allowance, and medical aid allowance.
