Requirements
- A 3-year National Diploma, Degree, or equivalent NQF6 qualification in a Human Resources-related field.
- Relevant experience in Human Resource Management, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team, with or without supervision. Capacity to handle stress and a heavy workload. Leadership, managerial, and organizational skills. Ability to resolve conflicts and work under pressure. Skills in analyzing, interpreting, and applying legislation, policies, and guidelines. Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
- A valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel across the province, stay overnight if needed, and work overtime. In-depth knowledge of departmental policies, regulations, and laws related to the role.

Applicants will be considered for similar Assistant Director: Human Resource Management positions within the Chief Directorate for Emergency & Clinical Services Support for 3 months from the advert date. Expect written, practical, and oral assessments. The People Management Offices will relocate to Alexandra Hospital premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Approved Personnel List (APL, including budget), HR Planning, Job Evaluation, Establishment Control, Recruitment, Selection, Transfers, and Appointments in line with compensation guidelines.
- Oversee the Staff Performance Management System and Job Descriptions in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
- Provide training to staff and line managers, offer support and guidance in these areas.
- Investigate grievances and disputes related to recruitment, selection, and performance management.
- Act as the main contact for maintaining and reporting integrated HR information to stakeholders.
- Manage and develop subordinates effectively and ensure fair workflow distribution.
Salary and Benefits
R 468 459 per year, plus service benefits including a 13th cheque, employer’s pension fund contribution, housing, and medical aid allowance.
