Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic patient care by offering direct and indirect health services under the supervision of a Professional Nurse.
  • Deliver basic clinical nursing care within the South African Nursing Council (SANC) scope of practice and based on competency training.
  • Promote health and provide information to patients, clients, and the community.
  • Work shifts during the day and night, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required by your supervisor.
  • Be willing to rotate within different functional business units.
  • Participate in the effective use of physical and financial resources to maintain standards and ensure quality care.
  • Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and personal development.

Requirements:

  • A qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
  • Sound knowledge of SANC regulations that guide nursing practice.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team and lead the team to ensure quality nursing care.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Grade 1: No additional experience required.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate or recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate or recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.

Salary:

  • Grade 1: R 220 614 per annum
  • Grade 2: R 262 287 per annum
  • Grade 3: R 306 798 per annum

Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
