We are seeking qualified nurses to join our team in providing high-quality care in general wards.

Requirements

  • A basic R425 qualification, such as a diploma or degree in nursing, or an equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Candidates without the required registration may apply, but must provide proof of application for registration and payment of fees before the interview. This applies only to first-time registrants or those changing status.
  • Applications will be considered for similar vacancies in the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services for three months from the advert date, if the job title, duties, requirements, and salary match.
  • Shortlisted candidates will undergo written, practical, and oral assessments.
  • Computer skills in MS Word and Excel are essential. Strong planning and organizational abilities are needed. Candidates must work independently under pressure and understand nursing protocols and policies in a hospital.
  • Grade 1: No prior experience required.
  • Grade 2: At least 10 years of appropriate nursing experience after SANC registration as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • Grade 3: At least 20 years of appropriate nursing experience after SANC registration as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

Duties

  • Provide optimal, holistic nursing care according to set standards and within professional and legal guidelines.
  • Use resources effectively.
  • Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and personal development.
  • Support nursing services.
  • Participate in training and research.

Other Requirements

  • Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including day and night duties, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to rotate to other wards when required.

Salary

Grade 1: R 324,384 per annum
Grade 2: R 396,132 per annum
Grade 3: R 476,367 per annum
Plus annual benefits, including a 13th cheque, employer’s pension fund contribution, housing, and medical aid allowance.
