Overview

Transport materials and finished goods between production areas and warehouses.

Responsibilities

Transportation of Materials and Goods

• Communicate with your supervisor about the schedule and destinations.
• Drive heavy-duty vehicles.
• Collect stock from warehouses as per the provided schedule.
• Deliver stock to specified locations.
• Assist with loading, off-loading, and receiving processes.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Check and report on vehicles.
• Complete all standard vehicle checklists.
• Refuel the vehicle when needed and get approval from your manager.

Planning and Procedures

• With guidance, handle tasks in a single technical area or related tasks.
• Learn and follow policies, procedures, quality, and compliance standards.
• Work within set policies, practices, guidelines, and safety checks.
• Work under close supervision with help from senior staff.

Asset and Resource Coordination

• Identify resource needs in your area.
• Request assets and resources for your duties.
• Use assets and resources efficiently.

Technical Expertise

• Improve your work processes.
• Spot gaps in policies, procedures, and rules related to your work.
• Help implement processes in your area.

Reporting and Record Keeping

• Report accidents or damage to vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Log distance travelled and loads delivered.
• Complete and update standard documents.
• Maintain records and systems as required.

Requirements

Background and Experience

• 0-2 years in a similar role.
• Minimum Grade 12 and National Certification (N3).

Specific Job Skills

• Valid driver’s licence for the appropriate vehicle.
