Facilities Artisan Jobs

Main Focus Areas

• The Facilities Artisan is responsible for all HVAC and medical equipment in the facility.

Key Performance Areas (include but are not limited to):

• Ensure the operation and reliability of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate routine maintenance on all mechanical plant, air-conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, autoclaves, kitchen equipment, gas installations, hot and cold-water systems, and all other mechanical equipment.
• Ensure that all service records of equipment are documented and filed.
• Perform general building maintenance tasks throughout the facilities.
• Control costs through proper preventative maintenance and quick response to breakdowns.
• Conduct risk assessments before starting any maintenance-related work on mechanical equipment.
• Handle after-hours standby and call-out responsibilities.

Post Requirements (include but are not limited to):

• At least an N4/N5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a trade test certificate.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CMMS systems.
• Practical experience in a hospital environment or similar setting is preferred.
• General knowledge of HVAC, air conditioning systems, hospital isolators, air compressors, and vacuum pump systems would be beneficial.
• A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are an advantage.
