Candidate Construction Project Manager (Two-Year Contract, Renewable for a Maximum of Three Years)

Requirements
- An Honours degree in the Built Environment field, or a BTech qualification in the Built Environment field with at least one year of experience.
- A National Higher Diploma in the Built Environment field with at least 18 months of experience, or a National Diploma in the Built Environment field with at least two years of experience.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
- Experience in contract documentation and administration within the built environment.
- Understanding of the design and construction of complex buildings, particularly healthcare facilities.
- Experience in preparing reports, submissions, and presentations in English.
- Good interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills in program and project management.
- Ability to work in a team, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Construction Industry Development Board Act of 2000, Construction Procurement System, Expanded Public Works Programme, National Building Standards Act of 1977, Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007, and Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993.
- Registration as a Candidate Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions.
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Western Cape and occasionally nationally.
Duties
- Lead and steward health and well-being initiatives, focusing on people-centric care and organizational culture.
- Foster collaborative policymaking and strategy alignment.
- Build ethical and just decision-making systems.
- Manage project implementation and monitoring.
- Provide strategic support to the Whole of Government Agenda.
- Oversee multiple health facility projects.
- Handle program management and reporting.
- Monitor and oversee project implementation in line with the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management (FIDPM).
- Engage with stakeholders.
- Improve and optimize systems and reporting.
