Key Performance Areas

  • Manage all staff in the department.
  • Oversee and coordinate all maintenance tasks for the hospital premises.
  • Plan and carry out reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory maintenance requirements, OSH Act, and R158.
  • Handle staff management, budgeting, and projects.
  • Maintain proper records.
  • Oversee buildings and equipment.
  • Manage purchasing and related expenses.
  • Control costs, prepare budgets, and develop cost-saving strategies.
  • Keep accurate records and provide complete reports.
  • Implement safety measures and follow regulatory and statutory rules.
  • Prepare reports on staff, contractors, facilities, and hospital assets.
  • Communicate with people at all levels, including doctors, management, and employees.

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF 6 in Engineering or higher.
  • Electrical Trade Test.
  • Completed course in Frontline Management.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Trade Diploma.
