Enrolled Nurse – Theatre – Isipingo Hospital – KZN Jobs

As an Enrolled Nurse in our Theatre department, you will provide direct patient care and assist Registered Nurses and Surgeons during surgical procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position with mainly daytime hours, plus some weekends and on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Registered Nurses and Surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies.
• Ensure the operating room is clean and sterile.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver the best care.
• Follow all hospital policies, procedures, professional standards, and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Enrolled Nurse with current registration from the South African Nursing Council.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a Theatre setting.
• Experience as an anaesthetic and circulating nurse.
• Skills in scrubbing and circulating for various surgical procedures.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anaesthesia, equipment, and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
