The Joint Medical Holdings Group was established almost 40 years ago in the 1980s by a group of doctors. They aimed to provide accessible healthcare to disadvantaged communities during the apartheid years. Overcoming challenges like the Group Areas Act, and without a clear plan, the group opened its first facility, Isipingo Hospital.

Purpose of the Position
To provide age-appropriate patient care according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
Key Performance Areas
- Practice within your scope as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
- Follow the hospital’s policies and regulations.
- Prepare the theatre efficiently according to standards.
- Assist in circulating and understand anaesthetic practices in the operating theatre.
- Maintain competence in hospital environmental and infection control practices.
- Provide quality patient care throughout the peri-operative journey.
- Verify, care for, and store equipment in the theatre complex.
- Complete all relevant nursing documentation accurately.
Competencies
The following skills will be advantageous.
Minimum Requirements
(Educational Qualifications and Experience)
- Matric is essential.
- Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
- Preferably two or more years of experience as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant in Theatre.
- Prepared to work long hours; flexibility is required.
