Surgical Stores Assistant – Isipingo Hospital

Purpose of the Position

  • Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Promote the health, safety, and welfare of all patients. Manage surgical stock efficiently.

Key Performance Areas

  • Pick stock for wards and theatre, ensuring accurate issuing of all items.
  • Complete correct and accurate billing.
  • Oversee and control stock in surgical and theatre stores.
  • Place orders for surgical stock.
  • Unpack, check, and barcode incoming stock.
  • Reconcile invoices for stock deliveries.
  • Capture all received stock accurately in the system.
  • Process specialized products and documentation for theatre.
  • Participate in monthly stocktakes and investigate variances.

Minimum Requirements

(Educational Qualifications and Experience)

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of surgical stock and control.
  • At least 2 years of experience in surgical stores is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and verbal skills.
