Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate.
- NQF Level 6 qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in local government.
- Experience in civil, water, or wastewater operations and maintenance at a supervisory level.
- Valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
- Join operational meetings and share information on the status of maintenance and inspection programs, including progress, challenges, quality, and costs.
- Lead the team to ensure water and wastewater systems meet regulatory standards, such as DWS-IRIS.
- Inform residents and the public about maintenance activities that may affect them.
- Take part in project handover inspections to check if the work matches the contract before approval.
- Inspect sites to assess work progress and status.
- Work with staff and supervisors to evaluate team and contractor performance.
- Handle queries, complaints, and requests that lower-level staff cannot resolve.
- Review and approve documents like work orders, requisitions, vehicle logs, and attendance records before submission.
