Office of the Valuer-General
The Office of the Valuer-General is a state entity under the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. It was established by the Property Valuation Act No. 17 of 2014, which took effect on 1 August 2015. The OVG is listed as a Schedule 3(A) public entity under the Public Finance Management Act.

DUTIES
- Manage logistical services efficiently, including inventory and scheduling. Ensure compliance with Supply Chain Management procedures, purchase orders, public sector payment systems, stores and inventory, and receipt of goods and services.
- Handle travel management services. Build and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders like suppliers and partners. Represent the OVG’s interests in logistics and handle queries well.
- Provide logistics advice to internal stakeholders. Work closely with key partners and communicate staff mobility needs within the organization.
- Operate within set authorizations. Help with monthly reports and presentations. Participate in management meetings, committees, and governance structures. Support the implementation of decisions related to logistics and mobility.
- Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, scheduling, and compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Formal Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (NQF 6) in Logistics/SCM, Public Management, Finance, Cost Management, or equivalent.
- Job-Related Work Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in public sector logistics management or Supply Chain Management.
- Job-Related Knowledge: Understanding of government priorities, the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and regulations, National Treasury regulations, Preferential Procurement Act, Auditor-General reporting processes, and other relevant laws. Knowledge of performance information frameworks, communications legislation, and public service systems. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Other (advantageous): Strong experience in public sector logistics processes and knowledge of government finance systems or ERP.
