Overall Purpose of the Job

• Implement policies and frameworks for supply chain management. Coordinate all related activities. Source the best solutions to meet the organization’s needs and customer requirements within agreed timelines.

Obtaining Quotes and Placement of Orders

• Get three quotes from the Central Supplier Database (CSD). Negotiate terms and prices. Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
• Advertise Requests for Quotations (RFQs) on the National Treasury eTender Portal.
• Conduct briefing sessions and site inspections when needed.
• Facilitate RFQ evaluations according to the Delegation of Authority (DoA).

Management of Purchase Orders

• Prepare and send completed purchase orders to approved suppliers and vendors.

Review Requisitions for Completeness

• Check requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and available budget.

Distribution of Goods

• Check requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and available budget.
• Deliver goods and ensure compliance with Goods Received Notes and invoices to confirm receipt.

Matching and Verifying of Documents

• Match and verify documents according to procurement procedures.

Travel Arrangements

• Coordinate travel by requesting quotes, processing orders, and sending them to the agency for issuance (including urgent travel during and after hours).

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or a relevant NQF level 6 qualification.

Ideal Qualification:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, BCom Logistics, or a relevant degree.

Experience:

• 3 years of sourcing experience.
