Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in local government
- Certificate in Labour Intensive Construction Methods (NQF 5/7)
- Registration with ECSA as a candidate or Professional Engineering Technician or Technologist
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge of MIG and Municipal Infrastructure System
- Experience with AutoCAD or other design programs is an advantage
Key Performance Areas
- Manage and coordinate the PMU, and advise the Council on implementing infrastructure projects
- Ensure projects meet the municipality’s requirements
- Prepare contracts and tender documents, and manage contractual obligations
- Handle safety duties and apply the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Understand government policies on service delivery, poverty alleviation, eradication, and job creation
- Manage grant-funded projects
- Register projects on MIG and MIS
- Report on MIG and MIS
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Services
