Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity for a Store Admin Manager at its Kimberley store. In this role, you will help manage, implement, and maintain company administration policies and procedures. You will follow group standard operating procedures to ensure the store’s profitability.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • At least 3 years of retail experience in receiving, front shop operations, customer service, human resource management, and store administration
  • At least 2 years of management experience with a team of about 8 staff members
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Diploma or Degree in Financial / Administration / Retail / Business Management
  • Working knowledge of SAP for retail operations

Job Specification

  • Assist the Store Manager with daily tasks and optimize store operations
  • Help manage goods in transit according to Dis-Chem procedures
  • Control branch shrinkage and consumables expenses within store goals
  • Report on and promote new loyalty signups
  • Manage human resource processes, submissions, and documentation for the business unit, following standard procedures
  • Oversee the workforce management system (KRONOS) in the business unit
  • Implement and execute company performance management systems
  • Manage store cash resources and daily takings
  • Ensure transaction integrity by monitoring and enforcing internal control procedures
  • Manage cashier service levels and productivity
  • Oversee goods receiving, credits, and returns, including staff development
  • Ensure integrity of incoming receipts and outgoing returns through internal controls
  • Assist with budget preparation and maintenance

Competencies

Essential:

  • Experience in store retail admin and management, including receiving, capturing, till operations, cash office, and customer service
  • Strong command of English
  • Basic financial skills (e.g., GP, mark-up, VAT)
  • Good interaction with suppliers, management, representatives, and staff
  • Strong analytical skills and time management

Advantageous:

  • Basic IR and management training
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Strong leadership qualities
