Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • Deliver excellent service at the point of sale by providing fast and efficient customer support and managing point-of-sale (POS) activities.

Job Objectives:

  • Direct and control all operational activities at the point of sale quickly and efficiently.
  • Manage stock and cash safely to reduce losses, and maintain high standards of housekeeping and administration.
  • Train and motivate shop assistants and cashiers to perform their duties well and deliver great service.
  • Ensure enough staff for shop assistants and cashiers, following work schedules, company policies, and labor laws.
  • Resolve customer queries promptly and in line with company policies.
  • Promote the Clicks clubcard to meet participation targets.
  • Handle stock effectively by using security measures, cash controls, returns policies, and other tasks to minimize losses and improve security.
  • Provide top customer service by being a brand ambassador, staying visible, and offering friendly, professional help.
  • Support the company’s goal to be the top choice for health and beauty by living its values.
  • Stay informed about products, ranges, promotions, and events to give accurate information to customers.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential: Grade 12
  • Desirable: 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level
  • Essential: Relevant Retail or Business Management qualification (for external applicants)
  • 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role, supervising employees in a retail or FMCG store environment
  • Experience in numeracy and stock management
