Candidate Construction Project Manager: Infrastructure Delivery (5-Year Contract)

Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate.
  • A National Higher Diploma in the Built Environment field with at least 18 months of experience, or a National Diploma in the Built Environment field with at least 2 years of experience, or a BTech qualification in the Built Environment field with at least 1 year of experience, or an Honours degree in the Built Environment field.
  • Registered as a Candidate Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Computer literate.

Duties:

  • Assist in preparing the Procurement Strategy, Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP), and updating the plan.
  • Assist in preparing the infrastructure budget and final project list.
  • Assist in preparing packages and individual project briefs, and present them to the Implementing Agent as the Project Execution Plan version 1, including inputs from the Directorate Infrastructure Planning.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation of programmes and projects by the Implementing Agent and adherence to the Service Delivery Agreement.
  • Assist in managing project implementation for projects not allocated to an Implementing Agent.
  • Assist in reviewing Variation Orders in terms of contract management practices and financial implications, in collaboration with professionals in the Directorate Infrastructure Planning.
  • Assist in developing Project Stage reports and designs in line with strategic decision-making points as defined in the Provincial Infrastructure Delivery Framework.
  • Coordinate and participate in project commissioning, including site visits.
  • Review and prepare Maintenance Plans and budgets upon project completion.
  • Assist in reviewing infrastructure projects and programmes to ensure they meet built environment norms, standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in participating in the continuous improvement of best practices, standardized processes and procedures, software applications, and tools.
  • Update the Department’s Infrastructure policies based on research findings, new technology, and changes in the institutional environment.
