Job Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Store Driver at our Panorama store. In this role, you will deliver goods to customers in a timely, efficient, and professional way.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to work retail hours or shifts

Advantageous:

• Experience in a similar role

Key Responsibilities

• Transport products to customers safely, on time, and politely.
• Learn dispatch tasks as needed.
• Deliver the right products to the right customers within the set time.
• Prioritize and handle fridge deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs.
• Choose the shortest and safest route to customers and back to the store.
• Return to the store right after delivery for the next trip.
• Repack the vehicle after delivery to avoid damage to stock or the vehicle.
• Take full responsibility for any damage or loss during delivery.
• Handle fragile and hazardous items with extra care.
• Meet company standards for speed and accuracy.
• Follow instructions from your manager for deliveries and pickups.
• Check, sign for, and return all collections, store returns, and inter-branch items correctly.
• Get all delivery papers signed on arrival.
• Confirm customer names and addresses are correct.
• Record all invoices accurately on the delivery log sheet.
• Report any issues with signed invoices to your manager.
• Follow company vehicle rules at all times.
• Keep an accurate vehicle logbook.
• Handle payments via EFT or cash.
• Never leave the vehicle unattended during deliveries.
• Keep the vehicle clean and washed.
• Check the vehicle for defects and safety before, during, and after trips; report issues to your manager.
• Report any accidents or incidents involving drivers or company vehicles.
• Follow all road traffic rules from the National Road Traffic Act.
• Pay for any traffic fines on the vehicle you drive.
• Build good relationships with internal and external customers for better efficiency.
• Provide quick and courteous service to maintain customer loyalty.
• Act professionally with customers.
• Report customer complaints, compliments, or requests to management and give feedback.
