Stores Assistant

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate. No prior experience needed.
  • Knowledge of basic work procedures, including the working environment, equipment, and courier services.
  • Ability to physically move and distribute inventory, such as consumables and assets.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Skills: Basic numeracy, good communication, basic literacy, interpersonal relations, organizing, and operating photocopy machines.

Duties:

  • Distribute stock from the warehouse to various hospital departments based on requests.
  • Move assets (redundant, obsolete, or new) in and out of wards and offices as needed.
  • Assist with stock takes, verify inventory in the hospital, and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Maintain housekeeping and pack storerooms according to inventory management standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulations.
  • Receive, store, and distribute Afrox cylinders, liquid solutions, and other consumables to wards.
  • Handle and resolve queries directed to the department.
  • Deliver medical equipment to relevant wards.
  • Place all scrapped and condemned assets in a central location for the condemning process.
  • Keep records and file relevant documents.
