Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate. No prior experience needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) at your own cost.
  • Knowledge of customer care, including Batho Pele Principles and the six ministerial priorities of Health.
  • Good communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities. Ability to work alone, in shifts, and under pressure. Willing to complete a driver’s pre-testing.
  • Advantage: 2-5 years of experience as a driver.

Duties

  • Drive patients and staff to and from various locations as directed by the transport manager.
  • Maintain the vehicle properly to keep it roadworthy at all times.
  • Keep transport documents safe, including completing log sheets and petrol slips after each trip. Report any damage to the supervisor.
  • Transport theatre staff and hospital staff for emergency cases.
  • Clean the vehicle after use and sanitize the interior.
