Salary: T-7 = R 211 428 – R 274 440 per annum, plus the normal fringe benefits of a Local Authority.

Requirements: Grade 12; 2 – 5 years of relevant experience; Proof of basic computer literacy in MS Office. A valid Code C1 driver’s licence with PDP.

Other Requirements: Supervise a team and perform a wide range of maintenance work. Responsible for deploying and controlling equipment, tools, machinery, plant, and vehicles. Work independently and report regularly to the Superintendent.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Report on the condition of the terrain, bungalows, ablution blocks, and vehicles. Provide written and oral feedback on repairs for bungalows and ablution blocks. Request quotes from suppliers for necessary repair items.
  • Report health and safety needs and incidents involving workers. Report fuel and water meter readings.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of council vehicles.
  • Supervise the safe use of machinery by workers. Ensure maintenance of infrastructure, including terrain, bungalows, ablution blocks, and council buildings.
