  • We are looking for a Food Services Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will help cooks and chefs with food preparation, operate the cash register, serve food, and keep the canteen and kitchen clean.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow company and legal rules on cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks.
  • Meet quality standards for customer service, operations, health, safety, and food.
  • Help prepare meals, especially salads and desserts.
  • Place entrees, salads, desserts, and other food on the serving line.
  • Keep the serving line stocked and clean.
  • Assist in training new employees if needed.
  • Store and record food leftovers.
  • Keep canteen tables, kitchen, and other areas clean and organized.
  • Meet customer expectations as per the contract.
  • Provide high-level customer service in your area.
  • Count and hand over stock to the next shift staff when required.
  • Complete any reasonable tasks requested by management.
  • Report customer complaints or compliments and take action if possible.
  • Attend meetings and training as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to follow instructions and work on your own.
  • Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: Completed National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous work in cleaning, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.
