Senior Accountant: Property Rates and Taxes – Riversdale

Requirements:
- A relevant three-year tertiary qualification (NQF6 – 360 credits), preferably with financial accounting as a major.
- A valid Code B driver’s license.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
- Able to communicate in two official languages of the Western Cape.
- Five years or more of relevant experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
Duties:
- Manage the administration of the Valuation Section to ensure valuation rolls follow the Municipal Property Rates Act, Rates Policies, Rates By-Law, and Regulations.
- Coordinate and control property rates and owner-borne costs.
- Control the implementation, capturing, and testing of approved tariffs.
- Perform monthly reconciliations.
- Manage property rates and owner-borne costs.
- Ensure debtor accounts are updated and correct.
- Compile financial statements.
- Handle expenditure and asset management.
- Authorise the issuing of property rates clearance certificates.
- Compile and submit reports.
- Provide supervision.
- Handle enquiries.
- Perform administrative tasks.
