Requirements:

  • BCom in Accounting/Financial Management or equivalent qualifications.
  • 5-8 years of relevant working experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level. Planning and organizing skills, and computer literacy.
  • A valid driver’s license. Knowledge of municipal legislation, such as the Municipal Finance Management Act and Municipal Systems Act.

Duties:

  • Initiate and manage the design, action, management, and coordination of all project work streams and processes needed to implement the operational plan within approved parameters.
  • Manage the development of templates and collect inputs from work streams for targeted areas.
  • Monitor the budget and advise work streams on resource availability. Assess project organizational needs and develop business models. Verify investment opportunities and partners. Engage relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor projects and submit for approval. Oversee project implementation from planning until transfer to the responsible unit.
  • Manage contracts with service providers. Review work related to annual financial statements prepared by accountants. Prepare quarterly, annual, and consolidated financial statements using CaseWare. Complete the GRAP checklist. Ensure compliance with National Treasury requirements for annual financial statements.
