Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification, plus a Government Certificate of Competency. ECSA registration and Project Management certification are advantages.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Fit to work in normal and challenging conditions. Knowledge of electrical by-laws, MFMA, and PFMA.
  • Strong management, leadership, training, report writing, presentation, human relations, and computer skills.

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage the operations and maintenance of the city’s electrical network.
  • Handle all capital and maintenance projects related to energy.
  • Manage finances for projects and ensure team discipline.
  • Conduct risk analysis and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Manage the budget for the electrical network.
