Requirements

  • Grade 12, National Diploma in Motor Mechanic/Diesel/Petrol or equivalent qualification, plus Trade Test.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, such as international clients and service providers. Strong problem-solving skills.

Duties

  • Manage the workshop. Create repair and service schedules to keep the municipal fleet efficient and roadworthy.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on municipal vehicles.
  • Work with outside contractors and service providers for fleet maintenance. Supervise staff.
  • Monitor individual performance based on set objectives.
