Introduction

Are you passionate about retail and excellent service? Do you feel confident driving sales and building customer loyalty to give the brand a competitive edge? An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Store Manager. The role reports to the Store Manager.

Job Purpose

To assist the Store Manager in running the store efficiently and delivering top service. This involves driving sales, building customer loyalty, and meeting sales, profit, and compliance goals to strengthen the brand’s position.

Job Objectives

  • Achieve the store’s financial targets by boosting sales through promotions, cross-selling, up-selling, and outstanding customer service across the team.
  • Handle all store operations smoothly, including managing expenses, stock, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.
  • Implement in-store visual merchandising to meet presentation and promotion standards, keeping the store’s look aligned with the brand image.
  • Support the Store Manager in motivating staff, helping them reach targets and goals, and managing the team when the manager is away.
  • Help create daily work schedules following the group’s labour policy and model to ensure all departments are properly staffed.
  • Carry out customer service programs that create positive experiences, build loyalty, and meet club card participation goals.
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently, such as submitting weekly time and attendance records and employee details to HR.
  • Promote the brand as the top choice for health and beauty by embodying and encouraging company values.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Essential: Grade 12 (with at least 50% in Maths and English)
  • Essential: Relevant qualification in Retail or Business Management (for external applicants)
  • Desirable: Degree in Retail or Business Management
  • At least 1 year in an assistant store management role in retail or FMCG, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
  • Experience in financial management (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)
