Requirements:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) recognized by SAQA in Public Administration or an equivalent field.
- 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level.
- A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG) is required.
- Top secret security clearance is an advantage.
- Successful completion of corrections science learnership or basic training.
- Knowledge and experience of the South African Correctional System and Criminal Justice System.
- Computer literacy.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of the Justice Cluster dynamics.
- Knowledge of public service policies and laws, including the Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 (as amended).
- Experience in public service planning processes.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining and human resource management.
- In-depth understanding of human resources legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all daily operations of the Correctional Centre according to the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 (as amended).
- Implement the White Paper on Corrections.
- Oversee case management, security, development, and care, including admissions, releases, property storage, and financial reconciliations for inmates.
- Manage operational support services.
- Build relationships with the Justice Cluster and the community.
- Monitor and address risk trends.
- Ensure internal security through standby lists, centre security, and regular searches.
- Manage external security with work teams, guard duties, and tower posts.
- Handle offender development and care, including social work, spiritual guidance, health services, and hospital care.
- Develop consistent activities and hold regular committee meetings.
- Manage performance information, human resources, finances, and assets.
