Requirements:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) recognized by SAQA in Public Administration, LLB, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
- 5 years of experience at a middle management or senior managerial level.
- A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG), which must be submitted before appointment.
- Computer literacy.
- A valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of the dynamics within the Justice Cluster.
- Knowledge of public service policies and legislation, including the Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 (as amended).
- Experience in the regulatory framework for public service planning.
- Extensive experience in collective bargaining and efficient human resource management.
- In-depth knowledge of human resources legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective functioning of incarceration and corrections, parole boards, corporate services, development programmes, care services, correctional centres, and community corrections in the management area.
- Manage the administration of security systems and programmes, including comprehensive risk assessments to ensure safety.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to policies and procedures in the management area.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in the geographical location of the management area.
- Manage the effective court appearances of remand detainees.
- Handle operational risks within the management area.
- Promote social responsibility and development for all offenders and parolees under community corrections.
- Manage performance information.
- Oversee human resources, finance, and assets.
