Rental Technician – Driver (Night Shift & Weekends) – KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

The purpose of this role is to ensure the successful and efficient performance of rental operations. As a Rental Technician – Driver, you will supply rental systems to end-users, collect and clean used systems to ensure quick turnaround and availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivery, Installation, Cancellation, and Collection Duties

  • Deliver, install, and collect rental systems (pumps and mattresses) with high skill levels, excellent customer service, and within the company’s 4-hour SLA time frames.
  • Build strong relationships with customers in hospitals, aged care facilities, clinics, and other settings.
  • Troubleshoot and identify faults in medical pumps and mattresses.
  • Maintain adequate stock in the vehicle for efficient service.
  • Keep the vehicle in lawful condition and follow company policies.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested.
  • Advise management on market trends and developments.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Safely store and use laundry agents, including the correct cleaning agents in proper quantities for each task.
  • Be available for night shifts on weekdays, every Saturday, and Sunday. The role includes a roster with 5 days off in a 14-day cycle (65 working hours over 14 days).

Administrative Duties:

  • Complete installation and cancellation documentation and upload data to the system.
  • Fill out daily asset count books.
  • Assist with completing forms when supporting field technicians.
  • Handle other administrative tasks as needed.

Quality System Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build quality into all work by maintaining compliance with all quality requirements.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of work experience.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and experience driving and maintaining a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently.
