The Role:

The Artisan Assistant supports artisans in performing effective maintenance and addressing breakdowns. This service is provided to clients of Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assist artisans with service and breakdown-related activities.
  • Conduct visual inspections of machines.
  • Clean the workshop, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow the workshop map.
  • Check wrapping and hoses.
  • Relay messages between operations.
  • Provide feedback to artisans on machine conditions.
  • Comply with the Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology SHEQ management system and its objectives and targets.
  • Use the correct tools.
  • Report hazardous conditions and acts.
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations.
  • Take technical readings.
  • Work on scheduled and unplanned maintenance and breakdowns.

Your Profile:

  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to work with Excel spreadsheets, graphical presentations, and charts.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • First Aid Level 1 (advantageous).
  • Experience in a manufacturing workshop.
  • Relevant experience with mechanized mining equipment.
  • Physical and medical fitness to work in a workshop or underground environment.
  • Understanding of teamwork and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
