Senior Artisan Electrician

Purpose of the Job

To operate and maintain basic electrical equipment and machines. Carry out routine tasks by following strict, detailed instructions to meet performance targets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in shift handover meetings and provide adequate feedback to supervisors on work progress.
  • Take part in root cause analyses and give feedback to the teams.
  • Join risk assessments according to legislation and company requirements to improve safety.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow waste disposal procedures.
  • Work independently and understand the business, drives, and KPIs.
  • Apply and maintain safety in the working environment.
  • Contribute to the development of training modules.
  • Identify personal training and development needs, and include them in your personal development plan with your group leader’s approval.
  • Lead by example.
  • Conduct on-the-job coaching for learners.
  • Deliver subject matter expert presentations on specific plant equipment.
  • Perform IMS inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainability.
  • Work effectively in a team.
  • Attend and contribute to post-deviation analyses and root cause analyses to improve plant safety and stability.
  • Play a key role during emergency situations to get the plant back online.
  • Give and receive feedback with other disciplines on daily issues.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide input at toolbox talks to improve plant safety.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in your work area.
  • Improve practices and/or equipment.

Formal Education

  • Occupational Trade Qualification/Certificate

Working Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
