Mechanic General Global Grade 08 Jobs

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled services, maintenance, and repairs on earthmoving equipment at customer sites or Barloworld Equipment sites.
• Conduct machine inspections and technical analyses on machines or components, and prepare accurate reports with recommendations for customers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose machine systems efficiently, and carry out repairs to ensure optimal utilization and availability of machines.
• Maintain a professional image when representing Barloworld Equipment.
• Follow safe work practices at all times.
• Adhere to Barloworld Equipment’s contamination standards.
• Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards according to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.
• Manage personal administration, including labor booking, service reports, parts returns, and expenses.
• Follow up to confirm that quality and productivity standards are consistently met.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Qualified trade certificate in a relevant field, such as Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (Red Seal preferred).
• At least five years of post-qualification experience working on Caterpillar machines.
• Strong technical knowledge and skills specific to Caterpillar equipment systems.
• Good understanding of Caterpillar equipment operating systems.
• Ability to read and interpret Caterpillar equipment system schematics (electrical and hydraulics).
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good technical report writing skills.
• Basic understanding of business and financial principles.
• Proficiency with Caterpillar SIS and ET tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on Caterpillar machines.
• Relevant product knowledge.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
