IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12/NQF 4
  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate is advantageous
  • Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License
  • Fault finding skills

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment
  • Solid welding and mechanical experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Undertaking cleaning, lubrication, and preservation of machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop, tool room, and yard area
  • Maintenance of mechanical equipment on stage
  • Maintenance of de-watering system
  • Maintaining of winder and the headgear
  • General cleaning and removal of rust on parts and equipment
  • Ensuring the proper use and care of equipment
  • Assisting artisan when undertaking inspection, testing, and repairs of lifting equipment and plant
  • Delivering and collecting materials, spares, tools, and machinery used in the fabrication and maintenance of equipment and plant
