Job Description

An Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager by taking over duties when needed. You will help maintain high standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of money.
  • Relieve the Store Manager as required.
  • Maintain company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed.
  • Assist the Store Manager in managing staff.
  • Ensure front-end controls are in place.
  • Oversee the cash office.
  • Minimize stock loss.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Introduce sales initiatives to meet store targets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
  • Previous experience managing people.
  • Previous experience managing a department.
  • Clothing retail experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Good decision-making ability.
  • Strong organizational skills.
