POST 41/90: ADMINISTRATION CLERK – COURT RECORD TRANSCRIBER (7 POSTS)

Requirements: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification. Key skills and competencies include strong communication (written and verbal), computer literacy (MS Office), good interpersonal relations, public relations skills, ability to work under pressure and solve problems, customer service orientation, document management, planning and organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Duties: In this role, you will prepare recordings of court proceedings, provide clerical and administrative support, and handle the filing, storage, and safekeeping of court documents. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of court administration and maintaining accurate records of legal proceedings.

POST 41/89: COURT INTERPRETER (REF NO: 36/25/NC/GAL)

Salary: R228 321 – R268 950 per annum. The successful candidate will sign a performance agreement.

Location: Magistrate’s Office: Galeshewe

Requirements: An NQF Level 4 qualification or Grade 12 certificate, or equivalent. You must be proficient in English and at least one or more indigenous languages. Three months of practical experience and a valid driver’s license are advantageous. Preference will be given to languages commonly used in the area. Applicants will undergo a language proficiency test. Essential skills include computer literacy (MS Office), good communication (written and verbal), administration and organizational abilities, maintaining interpersonal relations, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Duties: You will interpret in criminal, civil, labour courts, and quasi-judicial proceedings, as well as during consultations. Additional responsibilities include translating legal documents and exhibits, recording cases in the criminal record book, drawing case records for magistrates and prosecutors upon request, and keeping accurate statistics. This role is crucial for ensuring clear communication in court settings and supporting access to justice for non-English speakers.

POST 41/88: DEBT COLLECTION CLERK (REF NO: 38/25/NC/SA-KIM)

Salary: R228 321 – R268 950 per annum. The successful candidate will sign a performance agreement.

Location: State Attorney: Kimberley

Requirements: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, plus 7 to 12 months of relevant work experience. Key skills include computer literacy (MS Office), good verbal and written communication, customer relations, accuracy, attention to detail, problem analysis, planning and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team and under pressure.

Duties: You will manage debt collection processes for the office, draft routine correspondence and reports, prepare legal documents such as summonses, warrants of execution, judgment notices of sale, and Section 65 notices, as well as affidavits. Other tasks include providing clerical administration for debt collection, maintaining an effective filing system, handling financial accounting transactions, calculating payments and interest for debt settlements, and negotiating with clients and debtors. This position plays a vital role in recovering outstanding debts and supporting the state’s legal financial operations.

POST 41/87: MAINTENANCE OFFICER (MR 1 – MR 5) (2 POSTS)

Requirements: An LLB degree or a recognized four-year legal qualification. Knowledge of the maintenance system, Maintenance Act, and family law matters is essential. You should understand all services and procedures related to maintenance, be proficient in at least two official languages, hold a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel extensively. Key skills include computer literacy (MS Office), strong verbal and written communication, numeracy, interpersonal relations, problem-solving, report writing, time management, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Duties: As a Maintenance Officer, you will exercise the powers and manage duties under the Maintenance Act. This includes obtaining financial information for maintenance enquiries, guiding Maintenance Investigators, appearing in Maintenance Court to conduct proceedings, implementing Bench Orders, and compiling statistics. Your work will directly support families in securing financial maintenance, contributing to social justice and the protection of vulnerable individuals in society.
