Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

  • An NQF Level 4 qualification (Senior Certificate/Grade 12 or equivalent).
  • A Grade B PSIRA certificate.
  • At least three (3) years of working experience in a security environment.
  • The disclosure of a valid, unexpired driver’s license will serve as an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures and equipment movement control.
  • Understanding of relevant security legislation and policies, including the OHS Act, Access Control Act, MISS, MPSS, and the Protection of Information Act.
  • Good listening, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Computer literacy and report writing ability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise security functions performed by contracted security personnel (Private Security Service Providers), ensuring adherence to departmental security policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support and maintain control room operations.
  • Ensure the protection of departmental assets and properties.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations into security incidents.
  • Perform unannounced inspections and visits to verify compliance with security standards.

Note

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a practical test as part of the selection process.
