Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

  • ABET Certificate (higher qualifications are an advantage).
  • Knowledge of general work practices, including how to handle and operate equipment and appliances.
  • Understanding of lawn care, pruning, and trimming techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical use, such as diluting and mixing chemical products.
  • Basic knowledge of how to maintain tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with water use and water resource management principles.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and government laws related to maintenance and operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general assistant and maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Load and unload furniture, equipment, and materials to designated areas.
  • Clean and maintain government vehicles and assigned work areas.
  • Cut grass, trim, and clean pavements to keep the site clean.
  • Cut and stockpile trees and help with vegetation management.
  • Support the upkeep and general maintenance of dam premises, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Note

  • Preference may be given to candidates who live near De Mist Kraal Dam.
