Department of Defence Job Vacancies

Closing Date: 21 November 2025 at 16:00. Applications received after this date or faxed copies will not be considered.

Important Notes for Applicants:

Applications must be submitted using the prescribed Z83 form, which you can obtain from any Public Service Department office or download from the DPSA website at: https://www.dpsa.gov.za/newsroom/psvc/. If you use an incorrect Z83 form, your application will be disqualified. The form must be originally signed and dated by you, and it should be accompanied by a detailed CV. The CV must include full details of your training, qualifications, competencies, knowledge, and experience.

Only shortlisted candidates will need to provide certified copies of qualifications and other documents on or before the interview date. These certified copies must not be older than six months. Failure to follow these instructions will lead to disqualification.

If you are applying for more than one post, submit a separate Z83 form (and the required documentation) for each post. If you want to withdraw your application, do so in writing.

Applications where you apply for multiple posts on the same form will only be considered for the first post listed, not the others.

We will not accept photostat copies or faxed applications. Successful candidates will undergo Personnel Suitability Checks, including criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset record checks, qualification verification, and employment verification. You will also go through security clearance processes.

The appointment level depends on your qualifications, relevant experience, and research output. Shortlisted candidates will complete two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise and an ethical exercise to determine suitability.

If you do not hear from us within three months of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful. Due to the high volume of applications, we will not acknowledge receipt, and communication will be limited to shortlisted candidates.

For more details on the job descriptions, contact the person listed in the post details. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month probation period as per the rules.
