Truck Driver – Centurion Jobs

Job Description

The driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes. This includes reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of the vehicle before departing to deliver goods.
• Pack and load products onto trucks according to company specifications.
• Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes.
• Collect recon pumps from customers on assigned routes.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the logistics foreman.
• Unload goods as per client specifications.
• Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs.
• Obtain proof of delivery from each customer.
• Collect orders from local suppliers.
• Deliver raw materials to local suppliers.
• Report all undelivered or uncollected items to the logistics foreman.
• Report on required maintenance on delivery vehicles.
• Ensure the required maintenance schedule is adhered to.
• Be able to work overtime.
• Ensure housekeeping is conducted after every shift.
• Communicate any shortfalls or challenges that might occur to management in a timely manner.
• Pay attention to detail, as it is of utmost importance.
• Ensure all required licenses, permits, medicals, and induction programs are up to date and on your person at all times.
• Handle any other reasonable requests from management.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Safety conscious.

Additional Duties

• Handle breakdown deliveries.
• Flexible working hours may be required from time to time.
• Must live within the Centurion/R55 area.
