Purpose of the Job

Medirite Plus Moreleta Park seeks a customer-focused, hardworking, and adaptable Pharmacy Sales Assistant to support smooth in-store retail operations.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills and enjoys interacting with people. Duties include greeting customers, setting up displays, handling refunds, and recommending products based on customer needs.

Job Objectives

  • Process payments and balance sales and receipts following company procedures.
  • Stay informed about new products and keep your knowledge current.
  • Restock items and organize the sales floor per standard procedures.
  • Perform regular price checks to fix any discrepancies.
  • Handle customer payments using the store’s Point of Sale system.
  • Maintain product knowledge to give helpful advice and suggestions.
  • Keep up with promotions and special offers.
  • Uphold visual merchandising standards.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping.
  • Address customer queries promptly and refer complex issues to management.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Grade 12 qualification

Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 months of point-of-sale or till experience in a retail setting.
  • Proven retail sales experience, including work on the sales floor and at the cash counter.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of customer service principles.
  • Familiarity with stock receiving and merchandising standards.
  • Computer literate.
  • Bilingual, ideally fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Friendly and engaging personality.
  • Knowledge of payment methods like cash, cards, cheques, coupons, and vouchers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
