Requirements

  • An ABET Certificate.
  • Higher qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Preference will go to candidates with relevant work experience in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of handling gardening tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of general tasks, including lawn care.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance for safe upkeep of government water facilities.

Duties

  • Perform general maintenance like weed control, gardening, painting, firebreak upkeep, and applying herbicides.
  • Carry out routine inspections on departmental infrastructure.
  • Maintain government water facilities such as canals, pipelines, dams, servitudes, terrain, and buildings.
  • Report any faults, defects, or safety issues to supervisors right away.
  • Load and unload equipment.
  • Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all safety rules.
  • Help with other general tasks as needed.
