Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity for a Store Admin Manager at its Newcastle Mall store. You will help manage, implement, and maintain company administration policies and procedures by following group standard operating procedures to ensure the store’s profitability.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- At least 3 years of retail experience in receiving, front shop operations, customer service, human resource management, and store administration
- At least 2 years of management experience with a team of about 8 people
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous
- Diploma or Degree in Financial / Administration / Retail / Business Management
- Working knowledge of SAP for operating and using retail systems
Job Specification
- Support the Store Manager with daily tasks to improve store operations
- Help manage goods in transit according to Dis-Chem procedures
- Control branch shrinkage and consumables expenses to meet store goals
- Report on and promote new loyalty sign-ups
- Manage human resource processes, submissions, and documents for the store, following standard procedures
- Take responsibility for the workforce management system (KRONOS) in the store
- Implement and run the company’s performance management systems as per policy
- Manage the store’s cash resources and daily takings
- Ensure transaction integrity by monitoring and enforcing company internal controls
- Support cashier service levels and productivity
- Manage goods receiving, credits, and returns, including training and developing staff
- Ensure accurate handling of incoming goods and outgoing returns through internal controls
- Assist with budget preparation and management for the store
Competencies
Essential
- Experience in store retail admin and management, including receiving, capturing, till operations, cash office, and customer service
- Strong command of the English language
- Basic financial skills – such as gross profit, mark-up, VAT
- Good interaction with suppliers, management, representatives, and staff
- Strong analytical skills and time management
Advantageous
- Basic IR and management training
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Strong leadership qualities
