Job Summary

An opportunity exists for a skilled Code 14 Driver at our Roodepoort contract. See below for minimum requirements, duties, and responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP.
  • 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
  • 3 years’ experience driving Superlink/Interlink combinations.
  • Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Knowledge of defensive driving techniques.
  • Understanding of emergency reporting and defect procedures.
  • Skills in vehicle inspections and using fire extinguishers.
  • Focus on vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Experience in vehicle loading and offloading.
  • Reliable transport to and from work.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Medically fit.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles safely.
  • Load, transport, and offload vehicles.
  • Handle required documentation and perform related tasks.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from your supervisor.
  • Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record.
  • Keep vehicles, uniform, and PPE in good condition.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Successfully complete medical evaluation, USCS training, induction, practical driving assessment, and criminal record verification.
