Purpose of the Role
To provide effective and efficient record administration within the National Treasury. Assist in managing central registries and support the PAIA Helpdesk.

Qualification and Requirements

  • A Grade 12 certificate, plus a National Diploma (NQF level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Security Risk Management, Policing, Public Management, or Criminal Justice.
  • At least 3 years of experience in security management and investigations.
  • Knowledge of Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) and other security laws.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Skills in analyzing information, conflict management, interpersonal relations, report writing, and presentations.

Key Performance Areas

Coordinate Security Awareness Programs

  • Draft security training, awareness, and orientation programs and procedures for approval.
  • Develop and maintain these programs for implementation.
  • Monitor their impact and compliance in the department.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders like SAPS and SSA on the security awareness plan.

Conduct Security Investigations to Prevent Breaches

  • Investigate security breaches in the department and recommend corrective actions.
  • Compile investigation reports and suggest implementations.
  • Assess breach impacts and escalate to SSA and SAPS if needed.
  • Report incidents or suspected security breaches or information leaks to SSA.

MTBPS and Budget Process

  • Develop operational plans for the MTBPS and Budget process.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholder meetings to prevent information leaks before the embargo is lifted.

Development and Review of Governance Documents

  • Develop and review policies and procedures on information security.
  • Research international security standards and align policies accordingly.
  • Advise management on amendments or reviews of these documents.
