Job Summary
We are looking for an Assistant Cook / Griller to prepare meals and perform duties that meet the company’s and client’s standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Culinary qualification is an advantage
- 2-5 years of experience in a corporate, education, hotel, or restaurant kitchen
- At least 2 years in a similar role
- Ability to work well in a team
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise with managers about menus and daily preparation needs.
- Prepare, cook, and coordinate menu items like vegetables, soups, desserts, and salads according to recipes and procedures.
- Ensure meals are ready and served on time and properly.
- Clean and wash small cooking equipment.
- Keep your work area clean, including floors, tiles, surfaces, and equipment.
- Use equipment, materials, and cleaning agents correctly as instructed.
- Follow all hygiene and safety rules.
- Prepare items for functions when needed.
- Start shifts on time and wear clean uniforms.
- Follow instructions from managers within set time limits.
- Assist with preparing dishes or cleaning any kitchen area when asked.
Additional Duties
- Help in other areas or departments when necessary.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Follow company rules and regulations at all times.
